The 1999 FW8ZZ DXpedition is dedicated to the memory of Ted Thorpe, ZL2AWJ and Chuck Swain, K7LMU, who were lost at sea while returning from their 1966 Wallis DXpedition under the same call sign. We wanted to pay tribute to the memory of Ted and Chuck and honor them before their families and friends. They paid the ultimate price in the quest for more DXotica.
